Belington’s Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run returns November 7 to Belington Wellness Center, with all proceeds split between Heart and Hand House and Belington Presbyterian Church.
Barbour Community Health Association will host the 15th annual event at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 7. Entry costs $30.
Runners and walkers will start and finish at the center, 70 Sturmer Street in Belington. Online registration is available, and race-day signups open at 7:45 a.m.
The association said in its release that Heart and Hand’s food pantry serves about 275 people a month and the church will be able to provide about 400 Thanksgiving meals this year.
“Every year the Turkey Trot brings neighbors together in a way that reflects the best of our community,” Belington Wellness Center Director Kim Bolton said in the release. “It is a chance to focus on wellness while directly supporting families who rely on these vital programs. And it has become a great tradition for families looking to get out and move together for a cause.”
Last year’s Turkey Trot raised $5,000 for the two programs, My Buckhannon reported.
