Hampshire County man pleads guilty in Elkins fentanyl sale

Johnny Foster Biggs, 47, of Augusta, pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl analogue in a case involving a sale in an Elkins business parking lot. He faces up to 30 years in prison.

A Hampshire County man pleaded guilty November 2 in a case involving a fentanyl sale in an Elkins business parking lot, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia said.

Johnny Foster Biggs, 47, of Augusta, entered the plea to distribution of fentanyl analogue. Court documents cited in the release say he sold 3.339 grams of a fentanyl mixture.

Biggs could receive up to 30 years in prison. His plea agreement calls for forfeiture of a pistol and ammunition connected to the case, the office said.

A federal district judge will set the sentence after weighing the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Mountain Region Drug Task Force investigated the case.
