Joyce “Carol” Fagan Kelly, age 88, died Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Broaddus Hospital in Philippi.
She was born on April 24, 1935, in Vaughan, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence Fagan and Flora Elkins Fagan Enicks. On December 25, 1958, she was united in marriage to Oliver Lee Kelly, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her stepfather Claude Enicks; four sisters: Frances Lucas, Virginia Stone, Mildred Toney, and Janet Roop; and one infant brother Clarence Fagan, Jr.
She is survived by one sister Betty Harvey; special friends: Teresa Riffle, Pat Coberly, Ben Post, Jim and Rosealie Strader; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol graduated from Nicholas County High School in Summersville with the class of 1954, where she was proud to serve the class as salutatorian. She was employed as a clerk at Shannon’s Hardware for many years.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 1 PM – 2 PM, the funeral hour, with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park.
