BUCKHANNON — St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation will hold its 25th Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, August 3, at The Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe Mountain. The proceeds from this year’s tournament will benefit the new da Vinci Surgical System, making WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital the only hospital in the area giving patients access to the most advanced surgical system available.
The da Vinci Surgical System provides patients minimally-invasive surgery with a number of benefits, including smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery times. It is designed to translate a surgeon’s hand movements into compact, more precise movement of small instruments inside the patient’s body. A 3-D high-definition camera magnifies the surgical area to ten times what the human eye can see, giving the surgeon a crystal-clear view.
To support the fund-raising efforts, several options are available for sponsoring a team or receiving recognition by placing a hole sponsorship at the tournament. Teams at the tournament receive a light breakfast, lunch on the course and a full dinner, along with gift items celebrating the tournament’s 25th anniversary. Special room rates, as well as a hospitality suite, are also available for those who wish to spend the night before the tournament at the Snowshoe Resort.
