Rosemary Annabelle Thomas Heatherly, age 95, of Buckhannon, died on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
She was born January 31, 1928, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late John McKinley and Irena Pearl Clark Thomas. She was united in marriage on December 8, 1955, to Omar Richard “Dick” Heatherly, who preceded her in death on January 19, 2017.
She is survived by one daughter Rose Ellen and husband Chuck Loudin of Buckhannon; two grandsons: Adam and wife Katie Loudin of Buckhannon and Jonathan and wife Marie Loudin of Charlotte, NC; and four great-grandchildren: Thomas, Amy, Elliot and Bruce.
Rosemary was employed as a switchboard operator for C & P Telephone and was retired from the WV Department of Highways. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon and a member of the United Methodist Women.
The family has honored her wishes for cremation. A memorial gathering will be held at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 4-5:00 PM. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM with Rev. Steve Meadows officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Upshur Cooperative Parish House, 68 College Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201 or the Child Development Center of Central WV, 20 Camden Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201.
