Canaan Valley Running Company to host second annual Moonlight on the Falls Marathon

DAVIS, W.Va. — Due to limited remaining availability, the Canaan Valley Running Company has issued a call to runners to register for their second annual Moonlight on the Falls Marathon. The race will be held at Blackwater Falls State Park, and will begin at 10 p.m. on August 27 and will go until 7 a.m. on August 28.

“We are excited to be hosting the Moonlight on the Falls Marathon for the second consecutive season,” said Robby McClung, owner and founder of the Canaan Valley Running Company. “We look forward to catching up with the friends we made last year and make new friends as we expand on our success. We are also excited to provide our runners the opportunity to qualify for the Boston Marathon.”

The Moonlight on the Falls Marathon, which will take place on Pendleton Point, is an approximate 6.5-mile-long looped course. Runners will have the option to run a 26.2-mile marathon, a 13.1-mile half marathon, a 6.55-mile quarter marathon, a relay and an ultramarathon distance challenge. The course is a USA Track and Field certified course, and runners who compete in the full marathon will have an opportunity to qualify for the world renowned Boston Marathon

Runners and spectators will also have the opportunity to enjoy a festival-like atmosphere with live music, vendors, and more.

The 2022 race season is presented by Mountain Top Realty & Rentals and Canaan Valley BBQ. The season is also sponsored by Appalachian Timing Group, Tucker County CVB, and Highland Outdoors.
