FAIRMONT – Casadie Lahman tallied 15 points and Brooklyn Smith added 11 to lead the Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Lady Bucs to a 37-26 victory over the home-standing East Fairmont Bees Monday evening.
The JV Lady Bucs took an 8-5 lead after one quarter with Smith pouring in a pair of three-pointers for six points and Lahman adding a basket for two points.
B-U took the second quarter 11-5 with Rosie Shackleford and Lahman putting in four points each while Smith dropped in two and Regina Petrokovich one.
That treated the junior varsity Lady Bucs to a 19-10 lead at the intermission.
The JV Lady Bucs limited East Fairmont to just two points in the third stanza winning it by a 7-2 margin. Shackleford had four points and Lahman three in the third quarter as B-U took a 26-12 lead heading into the final quarter.
The last quarter was all even at 11-11 with Lahman scoring six points, Smith three and Olivia Shipley two.
Marissa Haymond led East Fairmont with seven points. The victory improved the Lady Bucs to 4-9 on the year. The JV Lady Bucs will be back in action Tuesday hosting Elkins at 5:45 p.m.
