WVWC swim teams pick up wins on Senior Day

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s and women’s team were victorious over Wheeling on Saturday afternoon at the Natatorium. 
 
The women started off strong with a win in the 200 medley relay (2:00.67) consisting of Amanda SchlorJennifer Williams, Alienor Dale, and Zeinah Abdelsalam
 
Abdelsalam scored for the Bobcats in the 1000 free with a time of 13:39.79. Russ Sutton placed second for the men’s with a time of 13:06.24. 
 
The women clinched the 200 yard free, with Alayna Crane earning first place (2:07.10) and Lillie Archer earning second place (2:14.40). Jakob Bohland placed second (1:54.28) in the men’s 200 yard free while teammate Nick Gerosa placed third (2:00.45). 
 
In the 100 yard back the Bobcats placed back to back. Schlor finished second (1:04.43), Choffin finished third (1:05.73), and Hannah Cook finished fourth (1:08.17). Santiago De Stefano Cavazos (1:02.12) and Jackson Igo (1:12.30) also finished in first and second place. 
 
Williams touched first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:20.41 while Ashley Downes touched with a time of 1:32.22. On the men’s side, Marc Bennet touched the wall to earn a 1:04.93 and Stephen Groves touched with a time of 1:11.01. 
 
Morgan Bennet took second in the 200 fly with a time of 2:44.78, out touching teammate Gigi Fusco (3:03.92). De Stefano Cavazos earned a time of 2:18.27 in the men’s 200 fly. 
 
Morgan Choffin won the 50 yard free (26.83) with Morgan Bennet touching closely behind (27.20). The men’s team followed with a first and second place, with Marc Bennett earning a 22.67 and Bohland following closely behind (23.33). 
 
Cook was victorious in the women’s 100 yard free (58.84). Nick Gerosa placed second in the men’s (53.18). 
 
Schlor won the 200 yard backstroke with a 2:24.91 with Cook closely behind with a 2:39.92. Gerosa earned a 2:27.31. 
 
In the 200 yard breast Williams touched for a 2:51.23 and Downes touched for a 3:26.32. Marc Bennett earned a 2:30.61 and Jakob Bohland earned a 2:47.14. 
 
Lillie Archer finished in the women’s 500 free with a 5:47.92 with Alayna Crane shortly behind (5:52.55). 
 
Dale placed second in the 100 fly (1:09.00) and Morgan Bennet placed third (1:12.57). Stephen Groves earned a 1:02.65.
 
Schlor secured second place in the 200 IM (2:29.77). Santiago De Stefano Cavazos finished the Men’s 200 IM with a 2:12.40. 
 
The Bobcat women’s 200 free relay of Crane, Morgan Bennet, Choffin, and Cook earned a 1:47.30. The Bobcat Men of Marc Bennett, Bohland, Gerosa, and Groves earned a 1:33.65 in the same race.
