WVWC sweeps weekly swimming honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan’s Arthur Assfeld and Rylee Jackson have earned Mountain East Conference Swimmer of the Week for their performances last week.

Assfeld, a sophomore from Toul, France, picked up three wins at the Corbiere-Merion Invitational and helped the Bobcats to a runner-up finish at the meet. He won the 50 free (21.20), 100 free (45.95) and 200 free (1:42.67).

Jackson, a freshman from Latrobe, Pa., had three runner-up finishes at the Corbiere Merion Invitational. She was second in the 100 free but posted a time of 53.37, good for the school record in that event. She also took second in teh 100 back (1:00.00) and 50 free (24.49).
