WVWC lacrosse tumbles in opener at Mount Union, 18-2

ALLIANCE, OHIO – The West Virginia Wesleyan (0-1) lacrosse team fell at Mount Union (1-0) by a score of 18-2 at Mount Union Stadium.
 
WVWC Leaders
Emma Adcock led the Bobcats offensively with two goals. Adcock fired nine shots and four shots on goal to go with a ground ball and a caused turnover. Netminder Maggie Wroe made 16 saves and faced 34 shots on goal. Kaitlynn Canby caused three turnovers.
 
Mount Union Leaders
Eden Kesler collected six goals. Julia Bates led the Raiders with three assists. Delaney Allen grabbed three ground balls. Kesler led Mount Union with five caused turnovers. Molly McGinnis was credited the win as the goaltender, making one save.
 
Inside the First Half
The Raiders scored ten goals in the first quarter of play. Sydney Bumbarger got the Raiders on the board less than three minutes into the game. Kesler scored half of her goals in the first quarter of action. The home team led 14-0 at intermission.
 
Inside the Second Half
Adcock got the Lady Bobcats on the board via a short-handed goal with 2:16 left in the third quarter. The freshman added another short-handed goal with two minutes left in the game. Mount Union cruised 18-2 for their first win of the season.
