GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (1-1) acrobatics & tumbling team knocked off Glenville State (0-2) by a 244.715-210.990 score Sunday afternoon inside the Waco Center.
How It Happened
The Lady Bobcats started the meet off strong with a 33.05-33.10 win in the Compulsory event. The Pyramid Heat team scored a 9.50 out of 10 possible points.
In the Acro heat, the 5 Element team of Kayla Gandy, Emily Dengel and Tiara Stokes posted a score of 9.55. The 6 Element team of Stokes, Joniah Howell, Gandy and Caitlin Josef earned a 9.45 in the following event. The Bobcats claimed the Acro event 26.90-22.30.
The Inversion Pyramid and the Synchronized Pyramid teams both recorded scores above the 9.00 mark. The Pioneers won the Pyramid event 26.40-25.55. The Lady Bobcats held an 85.50-78.80 lead at the break.
The 450 Salto team of Alejandra Ditchen, Megan Miles, Kayla Wade, Stokes, Sydney McKinnon and Josef turned in a strong performance with a score of 9.35 out of 9.90. Wesleyan won the Toss event 25.75-20.05.
In the Tumbling event, Howell scored 8.175 in the 6-Element Pass. Ditchen followed up with an 8.70 in the open pass routine. The Lady Bobcats won the Tumbling event 45.575-39.000.
The Lady Bobcats capped off the meet with a Team Event performance of 87.89. The Lady ‘Cats improved their score by over ten points from the first meet.
