WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital receives international Award of Excellence from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts

BUCKHANNON — St. Joseph’s Hospital is pleased to announce that it was honored with the 2024 Communicator Award of Excellence for the production of its Da Vinci XI television commercial. Presented by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), the Communicator Award of Excellence is AIVA’s highest honor.

The television commercial was filmed by BlaineTurner Advertising, based in Morgantown, West Virginia. Filming of the commercial entailed many hours of work not only by the agency but also by hospital staff, including marketing, operating room staff, and surgeons. Detailed scripts and shot logs were fine-tuned and executed, including many hours of filming in the hospital’s operating suite.

“We are very honored to have received this award,” said Skip Gjolberg, President and CEO of WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital. “I especially appreciate our surgeons Dr. Susan Long and Dr. Ross Knowles for taking time out of their busy schedules for filming.”
