WVU Medicine Children’s enters into program affiliation with United Hospital Center

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Children’s and WVU Medicine United Hospital Center (UHC) have entered into a program affiliation to help serve the children of Harrison County and the surrounding region.

Together, providers will have the ability to give an enhanced level of care to infants, children, and adolescents close to home. Providing these capabilities and best practices will allow UHC and WVU Medicine Children’s to ensure affordable, accessible, and comprehensive care for their most vulnerable patients.

“The goal is to enable our region’s top medical experts in pediatrics to collaborate and to combine strengths,” Michael C. Tillman, UHC president and CEO said.  “This type of partnership is the future of healthcare.”

This collaboration will provide state-of-the-art, nationally recognized pediatric care for families in the Bridgeport area through access to sub-specialty care, preventive care, research, and education programs.

“WVU Medicine Children’s and United Hospital Center share a dedication to improving children’s health,” Amy L. Bush, B.S.N., M.B.A., R.N., C.N.O.R., WVU Medicine Children’s chief operating officer, said. “We look forward to an alliance that will provide families access to the best of both of our organizations. Together, we will advance patient care by keeping children’s wellbeing at the center of all we do.”
