William J. “Wild Bill” Halterman

William J. “Wild Bill” Halterman, 70, of Buckhannon, bought the farm July 17, 2020, at the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.

He was one of eight brothers and sisters born to Clifford L. Halterman and Clara Endrizzi. A graduate of St. Patrick’s, Weston, and Glenville State College, he served in the U.S. Navy on the destroyer tender USS Shenandoah.

He retired after 30 years as a rural letter carrier for the US Postal Service.

Wild Bill is survived by his wife Susan; his son David; his son Stephen, daughter-in-law Bobbi, and grandson Eli; his son John; his dog Bubbles; and countless lifelong friends, including Paul Avington of Weston, his friend of over 60 years.

Services at a later date.
