BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia Strawberry Festival has announced an enchanting new theme for its 83rd celebration.

“Once Upon A Strawberry” will transport participants to a fairytale world with its whimsical theme. The announcement was made through a recent Facebook message from the festival organizers, sparking excitement across the community.

“We are so excited to see this theme come to life, and have tons of great ideas for the year already,” the message read.

The theme, chosen with the help of community winners Lilly and Hadley Spencer, along with Risë Hanifan, promises to blend the festival’s long-standing history with a sprinkle of fantasy.

“This fairytale book includes our very own history (with just a few fantasy additions) which we plan to share throughout the year,” festival organizers stated.

The West Virginia Strawberry Festival, held annually in Buckhannon, is renowned for its vibrant parades, delicious strawberry treats, and a variety of family-friendly activities. Festival-goers can look forward to seeing how this imaginative theme is incorporated into the traditional events and new attractions planned for this year’s festival.
