West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History to Host Grant Writing Workshop and Listening Tour in Clarksburg, Aug. 26

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History (WVDACH) State Arts Office will host a grant writing workshop and listening tour in Clarksburg on Monday, Aug. 26. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. at The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center, 444 W. Pike St, Clarksburg. The event is free and open to the public.

The grant writing workshop will take place from 9:30 – 11 a.m., with the listening tour immediately following from 11 a.m. – noon. 

The workshop will focus on basic skills for writing grants in the arts, such as how to write a more clear and consistent narrative, how to effectively state one’s goals, and various strengths and weaknesses commonly found in applications.

The listening tour is an informal meeting where citizens of West Virginia are allowed the opportunity to address staff from the State Arts Office to make recommendations related to the improvements of the arts in their communities and throughout West Virginia.
