Wesleyan tennis teams fall in outings at Fairmont State

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s and women’s tennis teams fell on the road Wednesday evening at Fairmont State with the men falling 6-1 and the women losing 7-0.

The Men
In doubles action, Fairmont swept 3-0 but Kihiro Karasawa and Emmanuel Mallya lost in a close one, 7-6.

Karasawa started singles play with a three-set victory, the only win that the Bobcats secured. From there, the Falcons won five-straight to secure the win.

The Women
Fairmont State won both matches of doubles play the begin the women’s matches.

Cayley Symons fought hard in singles play, losing 6-3 in both sets. Omolade Aderemi, Megan Meyer or Raelyn Vance were unable to pick up wins over the talented Falcons as well.

Up Next For The Bobcats
Wesleyan will be back home on Monday to square off with the University of Charleston at 3 p.m.
