Wesleyan tennis teams drop home outings to Charleston

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s and women’s tennis teams fell to the University of Charleston at home Tuesday evening with the men losing 5-2 and the women falling 7-0.

The Men
Camillo Salvi and Kevin Lin started the day out strong with a 6-4 doubles win. Kihiro Karasawa and Emmanuel Mallya fought hard but fell 6-4 in the second doubles match. Jonathan Lindstrand and Anthony McIntosh were victorious to end doubles play 6-3.

In singles play, the Golden Eagles won five out of six matches. Karasawa was the lone Bobcat to win a singles match, 6-1 and 6-4. Mallya went three sets but couldn’t pick up the win, falling 6-4 in the final set.

The Women
Omolade Aderemi and Cayley Symons gave it all they could in the first doubles match, falling 6-4. Megan Meyer and Raelyn Vance were defeated 6-0. Charleston was able to win all singles matches to leave with a win.

Up Next For The Bobcats
The men will be back in action on Wednesday at home for MEC play with Davis & Elkins. The women are set to host Kutztown on Friday at home.
