BUCKHANNON — One of the most historically successful softball programs in West Virginia will hold its Annual Softball Clinic on Saturday, Feb. 15.
- The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include plenty of instruction for individuals in grades 5-12 that includes:
- Hitting Concepts & Drills
- Defense Drills/Baserunning/Bunting
- Infield/Outfield Work
- Catching Instruction
- Pitching Instruction
- T-Shirt and Lunch
The clinic will be directed by head coach Steve Warner who is entering his 34th season with the Bobcats. The Bobcats have won 18 WVIAC Tournament titles and four Mountain East Conference titles. In 30 years, Warner has guided his Cats to an overall coaching record of 1195-475-2. The 2017 squad was the first team in school history to make it to the Division II College World Series.
The clinic also includes instruction by Assistant Coach Vickie Rohr (WVWC ’17) who is in her 8th year of coaching with the Bobcats and works with pitchers, Assistant Coach Bob Allen who spent 17 years coaching at WV State and is in his 11th year with the Bobcats, Assistant Coach Caroline Turner who is in her second year and completed her college career at The University of Findlay where she was a 5-year starter, and Assistant Coach Jim Gregory who has given back to his community, coaching many youth teams over the last couple decades. He mainly works with outfielders.
