Warner wins 1,100th game as Lady ‘Cats down Mercyhurst

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Steve Warner collected his 1,100th career win on Monday after the West Virginia Wesleyan softball team edged Mercyhurst 1-0 in Winter Haven, Fla.
 
Hannah Hudson continued her hot start in the circle and twirled a complete game shutout versus the Lakers. Hudson struck out seven Lakers and allowed four hits.
 
Molly Osborne drove in the game’s only run on a sacrifice fly in the third inning that scored Kaitlyn RizorKiley Turner collected multiple hits at the plate for Wesleyan.
 
Warner is ninth all-time in NCAA Division II softball history in wins and in his 29th season in charge of Lady Bobcat softball.
 
WVWC softball will be back in action on Wednesday (March 9) with a doubleheader versus the College of Saint Rose and Concordia at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
