Vonda (Bonnie) Marie Bean

Vonda (Bonnie) Marie Bean, age 82, of Buckhannon, died on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her home. She was born on March 9, 1943, in Buckhannon as a daughter of the late Audley Oval and Bertha Lee Shingleton McDaniels. She was united in marriage on October 21, 1962, to Gary Lee Bean, who preceded her in death on February 4, 2012.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers — Charles, Audley, James, and Franklin — and three sisters — Pauline Lewis, Hazel McDaniels, and Lurena Coe.

She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Lurene, and her husband, Charles Smith of Buckhannon; four sons — Jacky Lee Bean, Gary Eugene Bean, Jeffrey Allen Bean of Buckhannon, and David Wayne with wife Debbie Bean of Norwich, OH; fifteen grandchildren — Kara and Kayla Bean, Allen with wife Michelle Kittle, Donnie with wife Miranda Kittle, Nicholas Kittle, Cameron Smith, Ashley with husband B.J. Kittle, Joshua Bean, Matthew Bean, Brianna with husband John Jenkins, Steven Bean, Jeffrey Jr. with wife Sarah Bean, and Casandra, Sarah, and Emily Bean; and eleven great grandchildren — Orion, Krista, Christopher, Kaiden, Gloria, Sophia, Noah Bean, Elijah and Maci Jenkins, and Allison Bean with Skilee Heater; one brother, Johnie McDaniels of Selbyville and one sister, Mamie Sell of Lisbon, OH; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 3-6 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location, with interment to follow at Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
