Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center is excited to announce a new feature that provides real-time emergency room (ER) wait times to help patients make informed decisions about their care. This innovative service displays estimated ER wait times on local digital billboards and the hospital’s website, offering greater transparency and convenience for the community.

For patients experiencing non-life-threatening conditions, this feature allows them to check expected wait times before arriving at the hospital, helping them better plan their visit. The displayed times reflect the average wait time to see a health care provider, updated regularly to ensure accuracy.

“We are committed to improving the patient experience and access to care,” said Ron Andro, Senior Vice President of Davis Health System and Chief Administrative Officer of Davis Medical Center. “By providing real-time ER wait times, we empower our community with the information they need to seek care at the right time and place. Our goal is to enhance efficiency, reduce uncertainty and improve patient satisfaction.”

Patients can view live wait times by visiting DavisHealthSystem.org or checking select digital billboards in the Elkins area. However, anyone experiencing a medical emergency should always call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately, regardless of posted wait times.

This new feature is part of Davis Medical Center’s ongoing effort to enhance health care accessibility and patient-centered care.
