Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department encouraging residents to get tested in Barbour County Tuesday

BUCKHANNON — The Upshur-Buckhannon Health Department is encouraging local residents who have COVID-19 symptoms or fear they may have been exposed to the virus to get tested Tuesday in Barbour County.

Free community COVID-19 testing will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Barbour County Fairgrounds, according to a press release from the health department.

The testing is free and open to people who are not Barbour County residents, Sue McKisic, nurse director with the UBHD, said.

“We are encouraging people to get tested because of the recent uptick in cases,” she told My Buckhannon just before 11 a.m. Tuesday. “We have three more cases today, and more tests are pending.”

The Barbour County Fairgrounds are located at 227 Fairgrounds Way, Belington, WV 26250.
