The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Tuesday that 510 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the Mountain State.
Locally, new cases were reported in Upshur (9), Barbour (4), Lewis (8), Randolph (16) and Webster (2) counties.
A total of 183 cases are currently active in Upshur County, according to the DHHR.
Three additional deaths have been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR – a 61-year old male from Berkeley County, a 64-year old male from Harrison County, and an 82-year old male from Monongalia County.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of February 2, 2021, there have been 1,935,299 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 121,935 total cases and 2,031 total deaths,” according to a press release.
About 20,047 West Virginia cases remain active, according DHHR data. Of the cases that are no longer active, 99,861 people have recovered and 2,031 have died. The daily percent positive was 5.33%.
A total of 70,948 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said.
