Upshur County Convention & Visitors Bureau names new executive director

The Board of Directors of the Upshur County Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce the appointment of Cadence Ringer as its new executive director, effective Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.

Ringer, a lifelong resident of Upshur County, will assume the role while completing her Bachelor of Science in marketing with a minor in management at West Virginia Wesleyan College. She will work a modified schedule until her graduation in May.

Ringer brings a strong blend of marketing expertise, hospitality experience and community leadership to the position. In her current role as marketing manager at Country Time Cooking, she oversees digital marketing strategy, manages social media and content creation, develops promotional materials, and builds relationships with vendors, clients and community partners. Her work has strengthened her communication skills and her ability to effectively promote local businesses.

She also works with Stonewall Resort, supporting conferences, weddings, retreats and large-scale events — experience that aligns with the tourism- and event-driven mission of the UCCVB.

Ringer has been deeply involved in community organizations, including service on the West Virginia Strawberry Festival Board, the Student Senate, the Vice President of Student Affairs Advisory Committee, and Delight Ministries. These roles have equipped her with leadership experience, public engagement skills, and a strong understanding of Upshur County’s cultural and tourism assets.

Her academic background in marketing and management, combined with her professional and volunteer experience, positions her to lead the UCCVB’s efforts in tourism promotion, partnership development and long-term destination growth.

“I am honored to serve the community that has shaped me,” Ringer stated, expressing her commitment to advancing the mission of the UCCVB and promoting Upshur County as a welcoming and vibrant destination.

The UCCVB Board looks forward to working with Ringer as she steps into this leadership role and continues her dedication to the community.
