Notice: The City of Buckhannon Transfer Station will remain closed Thursday due to a malfunctioning scale. The Recycling Center remains open, and all waste pickups will continue on the regular schedule.

Upcoming walk/runs announced for Lewis County

WESTON, WV – Pace Yourself Lewis County has announced upcoming events with a goal of supporting more physical activity in the county through walk/runs.

The General Lightburn, the longest running event in the county, will be held in Jane Lew on September 17. 46 Climbs, a mental health and depression awareness event, will also be held and a date and location to be announced at a future time.

For several years, Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital has been organizing winter walk/runs and the dates for upcoming events are as follows:

  • Thursday, November 24 – Gobble Gallop
  • Saturday, December 3 – Cookies and Cocoa Walk Run
  • Saturday, January 7 – Snowball Walk Run
  • Saturday, February 4 – Ground Hog Walk Run
