Tyrus “Ty” Don Stalnaker, 91, of Rock Cave passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Ty was preceeded in death by his parents Joker and Margaret Bennett Stalnaker.
Ty was born July 5, 1927 in Georgetown, W.Va. and lived many years in Akron, Ohio, retiring from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in 1981.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hope Stalnaker; one daughter, Beth Ann Baglia and husband, James, of Akron, Ohio; and one granddaughter, Tyanna Hope Naro and husband, Brandon, of Stow, Ohio.
Ty will be sadly missed by faithful and loving friends: Cecil Haymond (whom he considered a son) and wife, Lisa, and Delores Boyles all of Rock Cave; and life long friend, Betty Lou Heavner of Ireland.
Ty was a 60-year member of the William G. Bennett Masonic Lodge of Walkersville, W.Va. He was an avid walker and often could be seen walking the country roads of Lewis and Upshur Counties with his little black and faithful companion, his dog he fondly named Joker. He was a true lover of nature and all animals, a savior of strays and humans alike.
Ty’s request for cremation has been honored and a Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
