Two people transported to hospital following rollover wreck at Morton Avenue exit

The driver of this black Ford Ranger was involved in a two-vehicle rollover wreck at the intersection of the Morton Avenue exit and Route 33 East Wednesday afternoon.

BUCKHANNON – Two people suffered non-incapacitating injuries as a result of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 33 and Morton Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

According to the accident report filed by investigating officer Sgt. Mark Stewart with the Buckhannon Police Department, the collision occurred at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1.

The report says Jesse Shreve, 31, of Elkins, was driving a red 2021 Dodge Challenger eastbound on Route 33. Shreve was approaching the Morton Avenue exit when Edward Taylor, 53, of Buckhannon, who was driving a black 1987 Ford Ranger, was entering Route 33 eastbound from that exit and pulled into the path of Shreve.

Shreve struck the back of Taylor’s vehicle, the Dodge Challenger, causing Taylor to lose control of his vehicle, which traveled across the median and rolled on its top. According to the report, Taylor was driving with a suspended license and failed to yield to the right-of-way.

Taylor and a passenger in his vehicle were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries following the collision.
