Try This WV Youth Summit & Conference returns to Buckhannon in June

BUCKHANNON, WV – The 2024 Try This WV Youth Summit & Conference will be held June 20-22. These in-person events will be held on the beautiful campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon.

The Youth Summit will be held June 20 for West Virginians ages 13 to 22 and their guardians or facilitators, and West Virginians of all ages are invited to attend the Try This WV Conference on June 21-22.

Join the Try This team and partners to celebrate projects and leaders, build knowledge and skills, explore new healthy-community possibilities, and network across West Virginia with others who want to see their neighborhoods, communities, and state move in a healthier direction. This is an opportunity to learn from everyday West Virginians on what they’re doing, and how you might do the same in your own neighborhood.

Both events are free for youth, and limited scholarships are available to individuals and organizations that don’t have the resources to attend on their own.

Try This WV aims to help knock West Virginia off the top of the worst health lists, community by community, by building a statewide grassroots network of healthy-community leaders who expand opportunities for physical activity and/or healthy food in their communities. There will be minigrants up to $3,000 to start a healthy-community project due June 27; sessions on getting a Try This minigrant are available at both events.
