BUCKHANNON — Two disposal events are scheduled at the Buckhannon Public Works facility in September, public works director Ethan Crosten announced during his most recent report to Buckhannon City Council.

A tire amnesty event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at the facility at 395 Mud Lick Road.

The Upshur County Solid Waste Authority will host a free paper-shredding event at the same location on Saturday, September 26. Details on that event can be found on our event calendar.

The Waste Department is also working on a loading dock upgrade intended to make entering and leaving the transfer station easier, Crosten said.

“We’ve been working on the dock upgrade for a while,” Crosten told council. “It should make it a little bit easier to get in and out of the transfer station.”
