Three Lady Bobcats voted to NFCA DII All-Region Softball Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – West Virginia Wesleyan pitcher Hannah Hudson and outfielder Grace Hightower were selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Atlantic Region First Team, while shortstop Alli Robinson garnered Atlantic Region Second Team honors on Wednesday.
 
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted on the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2022 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
 
Hudson won 20 games in her senior season, posting a 1.55 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. The Blackstone, Va., native struck out 175 batters in 176.0 innings pitched. Hudson was named Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Year.
 
Hightower, from Barboursville, W.Va., was the Lady Bobcat leadoff hitter and racked up 77 hits in 53 games. The sophomore outfielder ranks seventh in the country in total hits. Hightower was awarded First Team All-MEC accolades and was named to the MEC All-Tournament Team.
 
Robinson led the MEC in OPS (1.310), slugging percentage (.829), RBIs (60) and home runs (14). The Buckhannon, W.Va., native was awarded First Team All-MEC and was picked as MEC Player of the Week twice during the regular season.
 
The 2022 NFCA Division II All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 25.
