BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur that has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, volleyball court, golf course or the cross-country course.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of August 21 – August 27 are Ian Strader and Samantha Shreve.
Strader is a senior wide receiver on the Buccaneer football team. Strader had an impressive night for the Bucs in their debut against Bridgeport, going over the 100-yard mark with 105 yards on just three catches, averaging 35 yards per catch.
Shreve is a junior on the cross-country team. She opened her season last Tuesday defeating 23 other runners and winning the University meet with a time of 18:34.96. She followed that up Saturday night with the best split relay time out of 142 runners with an 8:37.2 in the Preston Knight Night Relays.
