BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another fall season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, cross country course, volleyball court or golf course

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Oct. 19 – Oct. 25 are Gwen Rogosky and Alex Sappey.

Rogosky is a sophomore on the Lady Buc cross-country team. Rogosky had the best Lady Buc time in the South Region Championships, finishing 11th with a clocking of 20:00.7. Her finish helped the Lady Bucs move on to the state championships this Saturday in Huntington.

Sappey is a senior on the Buccaneer cross-country team. Sappey finished fourth in the South Region Championships, clocking a time of 16:22.5. His finish helped the Bucs advance to this Saturday’s state championships.

WVWC Spirit Award renamed Alisa Suttle Spirit Award

West Virginia Wesleyan College has renamed its long-running Spirit Award the Alisa Suttle Spirit Award, honoring the 1992 founder who retired June 1 after 39 years of service. Two students from each class receive the award annually, with eight Bobcats recognized this year.
