Tennis ‘Cats drop 6-1 decision to Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va.– WVWC men’s tennis dropped a Mountain East Conference matchup against the University of Charleston on Sunday. The Golden Eagles took the contest 6-1. 

WVWC struggled in doubles play losing all three matches to the Golden Eagles. However, WVWC started to gain some traction in singles play. Kihiro Karasawa put up a strong performance at No. 1 forcing a three set match. Karasawa would eventually be upended 6-4, 1-6, 2-6. 

Camillo Salvi claimed the lone victory for the Bobcats  winning a three set thriller at No. 3. Salvi faced three separate match points in the matchup. Salvi dropped the first set 7-6, but came back and won the next two sets 6-3 and 12-10 in the decisive third set.

WVWC will head up to Maryland on Saturday for a matchup against Frostburg State.
