Susan Irene Daugherty

Susan Irene Daugherty, age 64, of Buckhannon, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.  She was born in Brookville, PA on May 23, 1959.  She was preceded in death by her father, John Barton Daugherty, Sr. and her mother, Mary Belle Himes Collins, also her stepmother, June C. Daugherty and stepfather, Harold Collins, and one brother, Frederick Brian Daugherty.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Biser and husband Ted of Lorentz; three brothers:  John Daugherty, Jr. and wife Diane, Vernon Daugherty and wife Sue Ellen, and Jim Daugherty and wife Kelly all of Buckhannon; two step sisters:  Loretta Watson and husband Eric of Brunswick, GA, and Dawn Workman of Buckhannon; one step brother, Dave Collins and wife Joyce of Jane Lew; sister-in-law, June Porterfield of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Jessie and Ron Farrell.

Susan retired after 27 years from the William R. Sharpe Hospital as a Health Service Assistant and Charge Aide and was currently employed by the Buckhannon Walmart.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Scott Owens and also to Nikki and Angie of West Virginia Hospice for their wonderful care.

The family has honored her wishes for cremation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
