Stonewall Resort kicks off summer season with activity-filled Memorial Day Weekend Celebration

WESTON, W.Va. – Stonewall Resort, situated along the shore of West Virginia’s second largest lake and offering championship golf, a host of watersports and an incredible array of recreational amenities perfect for the whole family, has designed a Memorial Day weekend holiday getaway offering as much, or as little activity as a guest may desire, resort officials announced.

“With outdoor activities centered around the lake, golf course, and the pool, we’re celebrating the unofficial start of the summer vacation season with a fantastic Memorial Day weekend,” said Andre’ D’ Amour, Stonewall Resort General Manager. “Social distancing protocols will be in place and the resort will be following all CDC and local health department guidelines to ensure guest safety.”

D’ Amour said the weekend features a variety of activities for families, including daily lawn games, wildlife exhibit, bounce house, evening “foam” pool parties, painting workshops and an outdoor movie, to name a few. And the Stonewall Outfitters Pass provides access to bikes, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards.

Guests can relax by the resort’s outdoor pool, complete with cash bar and a hotdog stand, play golf at the Palmer Course, or enjoy fishing or boating on the scenic and expansive lake. Bistro dining will be offered on the patio outside Stillwaters Restaurant throughout the weekend.

On Sunday, May 30, the resort will host its annual, lakeside Memorial Day fireworks display at approximately 9 p.m.

The resort will also host a special fireworks dinner party at Lightburn’s Restaurant, which is open to members of the community.  Lightburn’s is perched at the highest point of the resort property and offers the best view of the fireworks display.

This fun and intimate dinner event, to begin at 6 p.m. and run through the fireworks show, offers a menu of unique Appalachian cuisine.  The cost to participate is $75 per adult and $25 for kids ages twelve and under.  Two adult beverages are included in the price and a cash bar will be available. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (304) 269-8890.

On Monday, May 31, the resort will host a special Memorial Day Ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. featuring the Lewis County Honor Guard.  The ceremony will include a prayer to honor our fallen heroes, a 21-gun salute and more.

For additional information and reservations, contact the resort at 304.269.7400 or visit the website at www.StonewallResort.com
