Stonewall Resort Appalachian Dinner Series March events feature Smooth Ambler, Greenbrier Valley Brewing

Weston, W.Va. – Stonewall Resort will feature renowned West Virginia distiller Smooth Ambler as part of its Appalachian Dinner Series on Saturday, March 11. Additionally, Greenbrier Valley Brewing will be the featured purveyor during an event on March 31.

Highlighting Appalachia’s most awarded and sought-after craft distillers and brewers, the Appalachian Dinner Series offer intimate pairing dinners showcasing regional producers’ award-winning and harder-to-find products.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Smooth Ambler and Greenbrier Valley Brewing to provide guests the opportunity to sample their unique offerings in combination with a curated four-course dinner menu,” said Andre’ D’Amour, general manager at Stonewall Resort. “Guests have really enjoyed the events so far, which have included collaborations with Big Timber Brewing, WV Fruit & Berry and Jackie O’s Brewery. Awarded “Best Bourbon in the World” for their Old Scout Single Barrel Bourbon at Whiskey Magazine’s World Whiskies Awards in New York, Smooth Ambler is widely considered the premier distillery in West Virginia. Located in the rural Greenbrier Valley, Smooth Ambler produces small-batch, hand-selected spirits with state-of-the-art equipment in conjunction with the natural resources of the region.

The March 11 event with Smooth Ambler will start off with an Old Scout Welcome Cocktail and the pairing menu includes: golden apple and black walnut salad paired with Smooth Ambler’s Old Scout Single Barrel 4-Year Rye; sweet crab and grilled corn chowder paired with Smooth Ambler’s Old Scout Single Barrel 6-Year Bourbon; hot pepper bacon glazed smoked pork shoulder paired with Smooth Ambler’s Big Level Wheated Bourbon – Batch 53; and, figgy toffee pudding paired with Smooth Ambler’s Old Scout Single Barrel 10-Year Bourbon.

On March 31, Appalachian Dinner Series features Greenbrier Valley Brewing, which has been named by Brilliant Stream as the Best Brewery in West Virginia and, according to BeerAdvocate, are the brewers of the highest rated beer and highest rated IPA in the state. This intimate event includes dinner and four new and rare offerings from the esteemed brewery.

The evening menu includes smoked pork cassoulet paired with Greenbrier Valley’s Apricot Persimmon Sour; blackened snapper and quinoa salad paired with Greenbrier Valley’s Hoper Vision IPA; herb-marinated beef medallions paired with Greenbrier Valley’s Old Roads Rye IPA; and, brown butter cake paired with Greenbrier Valley’s Ballhooter Maple Vanilla Porter.
