On Friday, May 19, 2023, at approximately 9:46 pm, Tpr. A. N. Alton, and T. J. Roach responded to a drive-by-style shooting which occurred in the community of Gypsy, Harrison County.

Troopers arrived on scene and found multiple gunshots had been fired into the residence from the roadway. No injuries were reported. The WVSP Crime Scene Team was activated.

Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call the Bridgeport Detachment at (304) 627-2300. The investigation is still ongoing.

Upshur County residents should report flood-related stream debris blockages to the Tygarts Valley Conservation District at 304-457-3026. Assessments require property owner permission, and culverts or other man-made drainage structures are not eligible.
