BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital donated over 75 backpacks for children in the “Carry-On Campaign.” The “Carry On Campaign” provides backpacks with needed items such as shampoo, deodorant, brushes, blankets, coloring books and crayons to children in the foster care system. The goal of the campaign is to eliminate garbage bags as an acceptable form of luggage for children being removed from their home. There are currently more than 6000 children in foster care in West Virginia and there is a continual need for these items. The staff plans to host another drive for the children in 2019.
