Splashers win 26 events against Lake Floyd

CLARKSBURG – The Buckhannon Swim Club Splashers brought home 26 events against Lake Floyd last Tuesday.

In the Under-8 age group, they brought home five victories.

Naomi Hibbs won a trio of events for the girls in the 25-meter backstroke (36.71), the 25-meter butterfly (47.19) and the 25-meter breaststroke (46.81) while Holden Cabrera won the 25-meter freestyle (31.48) and the 25-meter butterfly (41.21) for the boys.

The U10 group won nine events with the girls winning five and the boys four.

On the girl’s side, it was Berkeley Jeran winning the 50-meter freestyle (55.85), the 25-meter backstroke (32.31) and the 100-meter IM (1:51.64), Cora Cottrill claiming the 25-meter breaststroke (25.02) and the 25-meter butterfly (21.72) and Lydia Wood in the 25-meter freestyle (30.12). For the boys it was Kyler Baisden winning three events in the 50-meter freestyle (1:02.80), the 25-meter backstroke (34.14) and the 25-meter freestyle (27.21).

In the 11-12 year-old age group, Aspen Manning won the 50-meter backstroke (48.63) and the 50-meter freestyle (45.00) for the girls while Riley Bender won the 100-meter IM (1:51.20) and the 50-meter breaststroke (55.65) for the boys.

The 13-14 year-old swimmers won six events as Rylee Yardley won the 100-meter freestyle (1:28.33), the 50-meter backstroke (45.19) and the 50-meter breaststroke (48.44) for the girl while Brody Jeran won the 100-meter freestyle (1:16.50), the 50-meter freestyle (36.29) and the 50-meter butterfly (37.02) on the boy’s side.

Cadence Vincent and Preston Bennett won both events held for the 15-18 year-old age group as Vincent won the girl’s 50-meter backstroke (32.51) while Bennett won the boy’s 50-meter freestyle (27.90).
