Soccer Little Lady Bucs split action with East Fairmont and Barbour County

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Little Lady Buc soccer team split a pair of games last week.

They lost a 5-2 home outing to East Fairmont last Wednesday but rebounded to blank Barbour County on the road Friday by a 3-0 score.

In their game with East Fairmont, Isabella Nottingham scored just 45 seconds into the game, but East Fairmont answered with their first goal just a minute later and took a 2-1 lead into the break.

Nottingham had the lone goal for the Little Lady Bucs in the second half.

Buckhannon-Upshur keeper Hannah Kelley made six saves.

In their shutout win over Barbour County, B-UMS took a 2-0 lead at the intermission with Nottingham and Lylah Ketterman each scoring first half goals.

Nottingham scored a second-half goal to ice the game away for the Little Lady Bucs.

Kelley saved all three shots she saw in net for the Little Lady Bucs.

The action left head coach Jeff Edmunds’ squad with a 2-2-1 record.

They will be back in action Wednesday at Mountaineer Middle at 6 p.m.
