TENNERTON – The story of the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs controlling play but having issues finding the back of the net continued against the North Marion Huskies Tuesday evening in a home Big 10 Conference outing.

Fortunately for the Lady Bucs, they are still finding the back of the net more than their opposition as they ran their winning streak to four games with a 3-2 win over the Huskies.

The Lady Bucs dominated play, and the stat sheet, owning a 12-3 lead in shots-on-goal.

“We dominated possession in the first half but couldn’t finish our chances,” noted Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jason Piacente. “In the second half, we dominated possession again and started finishing our shots. We played really well and connected a lot of passes together. We just need to work on finishing our chances we get.”

The Lady Bucs trailed 1-0 at the half after a Dakota Mundell unassisted goal in the 21st minute.

B-U came out of the second half with a renewed purpose with two goals in the first five minutes.

Kyleigh Keener put the Lady Bucs on the board when she scored on a corner kick that went into the net off North Marion keeper Kayla Moore.

Hannah Boyles played a pass from Haley Triplett and scored five minutes later to give the Lady Bucs their first lead, at 2-1.

In the 50th minute, the Lady Bucs made it 3-1 when North Marion scored an own goal when a shot off the crossbar hit Moore’s back and rolled into the goal.

North Marion scored a late goal in the final minute when Adalie Besedich tallied an unassisted goal.

The Lady Bucs were guilty of three fouls while North Marion was called for five.
