MORGANTOWN – For one half, the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc soccer team battled Morgantown on almost even terms in the season opener for both teams, but Morgantown dominated the second half en route to a 7-0 victory.
The Lady Bucs trailed at the half by just a 1-0 score.
Gracie Brown, Lillian Staples and Ariana Borneo each had two goals for Morgantown while Ashleigh Weaver had one.
Morgantown outshot the Lady Bucs by a 14-3 margin and the Mohigans owned a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
B-U keeper Kyndal Davis made seven saves for Buckhannon-Upshur while Camdyn Smith stopped three shots for Morgantown.
The Lady Bucs will return to action Saturday hosting Parkersburg at 11 a.m.
