Soccer Lady Bucs drop first conference game in 1-0 loss to Bees

FAIRMONT – In a make-up game from last Tuesday, the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc soccer team traveled to East-West Stadium for a Big 10 Conference battle Friday night and dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to the unbeaten Bees.

The lone goal of the game occurred in the 69th minute by Maddie Lott after she played a cross from the right wing delivered by Kiersten Maxey.

The two teams both had 10 shots on goal, but the Bees owned a 3-0 margin in corner kicks.

B-U keeper Kyndal Davis had nine saves while Zoe Boyles had 10 for East Fairmont.

The win improved East Fairmont to 10-0-1 on the season and 6-0-1 in the Big 10 Conference. The Lady Bucs suffered their first lost in Big 10 Conference as they are now 7-1 in the league and 9-4 overall.

The Lady Bucs were scheduled to play George Washington at home on Monday and will host Philip Barbour Thursday night which will be Senior Night for the team.
