Short-handed JV Lady Bucs struggle in 56-12 loss to Bees

FAIRMONT – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Lady Bucs were only able to bring five players with them to their road contest with the East Fairmont Bees Thursday night.

The final result was a 56-12 setback.

B-U trailed by an 18-2 score after one quarter and was down 37-4 at the intermission.

They were outscored in the second half by a 19-8 margin.

Makenzie Egress led the Lady Bucs with eight points while Kylie Hull and Martina Moto each had two.

Kinley Opas paced East Fairmont with 14 points while Abisdee Carpenter tallied 12.

The loss dropped the Lady Bucs to 0-7 on the season.

Their contest on Saturday with John Marshall was cancelled due to the weather.

They will be back in action Tuesday at University for a 5:45 p.m. tip off.
