Shawn T. McAtee

Shawn T. McAtee, 59, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at the Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, W.Va.

He was born July 13, 1959, in Buckhannon, W.Va., a son of the late Forest M. and Doris Blankenship McAtee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Heidemarie Hardt McAtee and three brothers, Paul, Neil and Millard McAtee.

Mr. McAtee is survived by his son, Mark Bennett and wife Ginger of Jane Lew, W.Va.; daughter, Wilma Small and husband Tommy of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Christopher Small and wife April of Buckhannon and Nicholas Lough and Jace Bennett both of Jane Lew; one granddaughter, Rachel Tenney and husband Cody of Buckhannon; three great grandsons, Easton Tenney and Noah and Chase Small all of Buckhannon; three brothers, Cutch McAtee and wife Anita of Milton, W.Va., Roger McAtee and wife Millie of Buckhannon and J.K. McAtee and wife Christine of Dunbar, WV; two sisters, Dwanda Hewitt of Buckhannon and Jackie Herman and husband Tom of McMurray, Pa.; several nieces and nephews and his precious cats.

Mr. McAtee was an automotive parts salesman.

Friends will be received Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Upshur County Humane Society.
