Sharon Ann (Mackey) Fincham

Sharon Ann (Mackey) Fincham, 76, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, died peacefully with her sons at her side after a brief illness.

Sharon was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia to Joseph Allen (Red) Mackey and Anna Elizabeth (Gould) Mackey. She graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1962 and then attended West Virginia Wesleyan College.

She retired from Marietta City Schools, Harmar Elementary, where she worked as a classroom aide.  In retirement, Sharon worked at the Upshur Co. Public Library.

Sharon loved family holiday gatherings, croquet, and badminton in the barnyard as well as the Strawberry Festival. Her summer days were spent on river rocks at Sago and Audra State Park. Sharon passionately cheered for the athletic teams of her father, sons, and grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her sons and spouses, William (Joe) & Rita Fincham and John and Heather Fincham; 5 grandchildren, Brady, Mack, Samantha, Carly, and Annie Fincham; Aunt Sue Gould and cousins and spouses Carla (Gould) and Mark Waldo, Lauralee (Gould) and Steve Jones, and JB Gould.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Allen and Anna Elizabeth Mackey.

Friends will be received Friday, February 12, 2021 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
