See the #BuckhannonRecycles winners

The City of Buckhannon recently announced the winners of their #BuckhannonRecycles social media campaign.

The campaign tasked community members to take a selfie while recycling and use the #BuckhannonRecycles hashtag to spread the word about recycling locally.

The winners from the random drawing were:

Linda Cronin – Free drone training session with Mountain Lakes Preservation Alliance & BVC water bottle

Courtney Page – W.Va. Department of Environmental Protection knit hat & BVC water bottle

Sara Aylestock Gaither – W.Va. DEP can koozie & BVC water bottle

Donna Higgins – W.Va. DEP can koozie & BVC water bottle

Pomeroy-Mason Bridge closed following barge strike

The Pomeroy-Mason Bridge over the Ohio River is closed after a runaway barge struck a support pier just after 2 p.m. Friday. Inspectors are assessing damage as more barges drift downriver, prompting plans to temporarily close the Silver Memorial Bridge.
