BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Track & Field standout Samantha Cash was awarded MEC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and Most Valuable Performer at the conclusion of the 2023 MEC Outdoor Championships yesterday. Along with Cash, five other Bobcats earned All-MEC honors.

Cash won the Heptathlon, 100m Hurdles and the 400m Hurdles, taking home three championships and All-MEC First Team. Leigha Hall (Steeplechase), Oliver French (Javelin Throw) and Aaron Kupfner (400m Hurdles) were also All-MEC First Team after winning their events. Aubrey Wiethe (400m Hurdles), Destry Nelson (Decathlon) and Michelle Baughman (Discus) were All-MEC Honorable Mention with 3rd place finishes.

Samantha Cash was also Field Athlete of the Year and Most Valuable Performer at the 2023 MEC Indoor Championships in February.
