Reverend M. Jack Bohman Jr.

Reverend M. Jack Bohman, Jr., 77, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.  

He was born on May 11, 1944, in Erie, PA, a son of the late Maurice John Bohman, Sr. and Emmy Lou Eschner Bohman.  On June 26, 1965, he was united in marriage to Cynthia A. Imboden Bohman, who survives.  Also surviving are four sons:  John K. Bohman and wife Suzanne of Buckhannon, Paul D. Bohman and wife Beth of Buckhannon, Matthew J. Bohman and wife Jessica of Buckhannon, and Stephen J. Bohman and wife Holly of Charleston, WV; eleven grandchildren:  Andrew (Maddi), Benjamin, Jake, Leanna, Emerson, Finley, M.J., Aaron, Genesis, Sullivan, and Michal Bohman; three sisters:  Barbara L. Corey of Erie, Rebecca and husband John Greathouse of Albuquerque, NM, and Deborah and husband David Jarmul of Albuquerque, NM; one brother Kenneth M. Bohman and wife Sandy of Fayetteville, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was an ordained Christian Missionary Alliance minister and was the former pastor of the Buckhannon Alliance Church.  In his “semi-retirement,” he had served the South Buckhannon Charge of the United Methodist Church and was currently serving the North Buckhannon Charge of the United Methodist Church (Mt. Hermon, Mt. Rupert, and Kesling Mill), as well as the First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon.  He was an avid basketball player and a talented golfer and billiard player.

The family will receive friends at the Buckhannon Alliance Church on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 4-8:00 PM.  The funeral will be held at the church on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 10:00 AM, with Reverend Dr. Jeffery Norris officiating.  Interment will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity Jack founded to help young pastors and those in the ministry, “We Help Them, Inc.”, 286 Glenn Abby Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
